Mitzi Hill works closely with her clients with an innovative mindset that enables her to create cutting edge solutions for her clients. Having addressed a multitude technology, IP, and compliance issues, she effectively evaluates all types of challenges for her clients and works proactively to solve them.

Ms. Hill’s 15 years of experience as in-house counsel for Turner Broadcasting allowed her to oversee multiple regulatory compliance programs, international content licensing, and legal clearance of new technology systems. In this position, she was an advisor to the executive management regarding evolution of digital consumer technology and the impact it had on the company’s legal strategy. Ms. Hill worked on licensing and purchase agreements, lobbied on IP issues and emerging compliance issues, and was responsible for copyright clearance oversight. In addition, she also acted as the liaison to parent and sister companies regarding copyright strategy and policy. Ms. Hill also resided in London and oversaw Turner’s legal function in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

As founder of Taylor English’s Data Security and Privacy practice, Ms. Hill is not a stranger to complex work situations and keeping a competitive edge in the data regulation workspace. In this regard, she counsels US and international companies on compliance with privacy laws including the GDPR and CCPA; serves as privileging counsel on security and compliance audits; and handles data breach response.  She also handles software and SaaS licenses, MSP and similar matters in the technology industry.  She also uses these skills in her role as an Adjunct Professor of Law for the past nine years at Emory University School of Law.

Utilizing her extensive background in media and intellectual property issue, Ms. Hill has handled film productions, media and sponsorship rights, program distribution, and music licensing. Ms. Hill is also active with the ALS Association, Georgia Chapter, where she serves as Secretary of the Board.

Ms. Hill is also part of the Taylor English CTA Task Force and provides strategic advice to help reporting companies identify and analyze their compliance requirements under the Corporate Transparency Act.

Experience

Ms. Hill has handled technology, IP, compliance, and international business matters for more than twenty-five years. This strong background allows her to work closely with clients including retailers, logistics companies, service providers, platform operators and others to ensure that they are prepared for privacy and cybersecurity requirements imposed on them by laws and by their customers.

Ms. Hill also has an extensive background in media and intellectual property issues and has handled film productions, media and sponsorship rights, program distribution, and music licensing. In addition, she has spent significant time overseas, having resided in London to oversee a client’s legal function in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
